What is FLMR?

FLMR (pronounced filmer) is a site created to bridge the gap between surfers and surf photographers. We are creating a platform where photographers can upload photos / videos they took of all surfers at a certain surf spot. As a surfer, you can then go to the spot you were surfing and browse the albums uploaded for the day you were out.

Why use FLMR instead of ‘cam rewinds’?

We believe in getting clips that are print, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, show your mom worthy. That means full HD quality, all the time - none of that 480p grainy, pixelated stuff where your friends aren’t quite sure if that’s really you. Also, we think supporting your local photographers / video makers is a lot cooler.

Does FLMR compress or degrade quality of photos?

Never. Unlike other platforms that destroy your beautiful images, we never compress, scale or change your originally uploaded files in any way. We do make thumbnailed versions to allow our site to load faster - but your original images are never manipulated in any way.

How are my photos protected against people downloading them without buying?

When your photos are uploaded, we create a watermark version of your original image to display so users can not steal your content. When someone purchases your photo, we send them the original photo.

Can I give my photos away for free?

Absolutely, when uploading a new album - there is an option to make all your photos in your album free to download.

How Much Does This Cost?

FLMR is absolutely free to use. We cover our costs by adding a small fee to all sold images that is paid by the buyer, never the seller.

Do I keep ownership of my photos when I upload them to FLMR?

FLMR will never own or claim to own your photos, ever.

If I sell photos on FLMR, can the buyer repurpose the photos in any way?

Yes, when someone purchases your photos they are passed ownership of that photo and are free to use it in any way, personally or commercially. We recommend pricing your photo with that in mind.

Do I need to be a professional photographer to upload my photos?

Absolutely not, we encourage hobbyists and professionals alike.
